Atlanta is home to 242 distinct neighborhoods. The City of Atlanta supports neighborhoods through strong coordination with neighborhood planning units, support for community-based improvement and beautification efforts, and support for public festivals and programs.

Neighborhood Planning
- Neighborhood Planning Units: NPUs are citizen advisory councils that provide input to City Council and have some decision-making power over issues like zoning and land use.

Farmer’s Markets & Community Gardens
- Farmer’s Markets: Find location and schedule information, learn about SNAP benefits for farmer's markets, and get involved in the local food movement.
- Community Gardens: Park Pride has administered Atlanta's community gardening program since 2007, when the City passed legislation allowing gardens in city parks.
Neighborhood Beautification

- Love Your Block: Grants and services to support grassroots neighborhood beautification efforts. LYB is a partnership between City of Atlanta, the Neighborhood Fund, and Hands On Atlanta.
